October is Canadian Library Month! During this month, libraries and library partners across Canada raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in Canadians’ lives. In Ontario, we celebrate our public libraries during Ontario Public Library Week (OPLW), on October 15 to 21, 2017.

Sue Irwin, local Grimsby author of Safety Stars: Players Who Fought to Make the Hard Hitting Game of Professional Hockey Safer, will discuss her Silver Birch nominated book. All of the hockey players featured in Safety Stars are Canadian citizens, and many grew up in Ontario. Sue includes interesting facts and information about concussions that apply to many different sports.

BUT ALL AGES ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND!

Celebrate Ontario Public Library week by joining a group of genealogy enthusiasts for family history sharing. We’ll discuss format and topics for regular meetings. For more info call 905.945.5142

Tamara Botting, author of the juvenile fiction book Unfrogged, will be at the Grimsby Library to read from and discuss her book. It’s a middle-grade novel that is packed full of adventure, courage, and friendship.
